I’m a bit jealous that you got to read Sharon’s book already. I can’t wait to hear the interview. I’m going to Nashville to see her on her book tour as well. Can’t wait!
I loved The Midnight Library. It was great on audio.
I’m trying to include some graphic novels in my reading. Haven’t found a good way to find what interests me. I will keep looking.
Love this Substack. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on what you are reading.
Gilead is on my lifetime list of 10 favorites. Next up you should read Lila, then Jack. I’m looking forward to her newest nonfiction, Reading Genesis, which my son and I are planning for a buddy read together.
Love these! I will have to look some up and add to my TBR list LOL. In August I read/listened to "Hot and Bothered: What no one tells you about Menopause" by Jancee Dunn. I highly recommend this in audio because the humor she reads this in makes the subject not so dreadful. I also love how she consistently acknowledges that even though some experiences are common, everyone's experience is different and do what is best for you.
Then a fun summer read I read "For the Love of Summer" by Susan Mallory. Love her books.
I am reading Search by Michelle Huneven. I want to give it to a friend who was recently involved in a search for her church's pastor, but I am reading it first to make sure it won't be too traumatic for her. I didn't realize before starting that the church featured in this novel is a UU church, but that is making it all the funnier. Warning - if you are UU, you may find it funny or you may find it very annoying. The characters are stereotypes of UU members and pastors, but they made me laugh.
Have you read Horse by Geraldine Brooks? Being from Kentucky, I think it’s a must-read. Winner of the Pulitzer Prize, the title horse is Lexington, who was a real racehorse in the 19th century…the GOAT of that time. My favorite read of this year…a perfect book!

Thanks for suggesting the audiobook for Hot and Bothered. I never would have thought to look for it.
I can't wait to hear Sharon on the show!
