I finished Her Country for the Pantsuit Politics book club while camping near Erie for the eclipse! I’m also listening to The Rachel Incident on audio and really enjoying the wit and depth and of course the marvelous Irish accents.

I only started it mid-way through Spring Break, but we were in the Smokies so I started and later finished Chasing the Smokies Moon by Nancy East about her and her friend's FKT of hiking all of the trails in the GSMNP in under a month a few years ago. Highly recommend it!

Great roundup! If you want a fiction flight pick for Last Train to Paradise, you may want to pick up Chanel Cleeton's Last Train to Key West, written from the perspectives of three different women during the hurricane that destroyed that railroad.

I love Chanel Cleeton’s books and always learn so much about the places/history while being engrossed in her stories. That one was fascinating!

I just read Listen For The Lie by Amy Tintera. It’s about a woman who *may* have murdered her best friend five years ago. She’s so far been unable to remember anything about that night. She returns to the hometown where the murder occurred for her Grandma’s birthday, only to be confronted by the crew making a podcast about the case.

I just returned from hearing Alice McDermott speak on her new book, Absolution. I haven't read it yet, but McDermott was as engaging as always. It is set in Vietnam in 1963 - so before the war. If you haven't read it yet, and the waiting list is shorter than for the Hannah book, maybe read that one before Hannah's.

Oh, and I read The Vulnerables by Sigrid Nunez on a trip to go help my son with a few things. I don't know if I would call taking the train all over Chicago to a computer repair shop, clothing stores, visa photo agency, etc spring break, but the book was good to read in short bursts, so it was good for short jaunts on the CTA.
